A nonlinear shaper that folds the waveform back on itself instead of simply clipping its peaks. Drive and fold count increase the number of folds, while bias and symmetry change how positive and negative portions of the wave enter the transfer curve.
Tone filtering controls the resulting brightness, and mix/output controls balance the folded signal against the source. The reviewed engine processes this nonlinear stage with 4x oversampling and aligns the dry path for blending.
